B Corp
We began, over three decades ago, with a clear goal to create natural hair products that were not only healthier for hairdressers to use, but for their clients and the planet as well.
Way back then, we were often dismissed by people who believed natural and ethically sourced ingredients would not cut-the-mustard for the quality of results they required.
We didn’t give up.
We selected the finest certified organic and natural ingredients to make our colour, care and styling formulations. We insisted on ingredients that hadn’t been tested on animals and chose suppliers whose values aligned with our own. And we found like-minded hairdressers and distributors who wanted to work with us to drive change.
And we haven’t stopped.
Today, across both our professional and DIY colour ranges, our bottles are made from 100% recycled waste plastic, our cardboard is also 100% recycled and it’s all 100% recyclable. We say no to unnecessary ingredients that put people and planet at risk. We’ve gone 100% print-free on our sales and marketing materials. We incentivise our people to walk and bike to work instead of driving, we’re moving our small car fleet to full electric (or hybrid as a minimum standard) and we actively seek out collaborative relationships with fellow businesses and organisations that put people and planet before profit.
All of this, and more, is how we meet the stringent criteria for B Corp™ certification, and we’re proud as punch to be part of this incredible community.
What is B Corp™?
Certified B Corporations are a new kind of business that balances purpose and profit. They are legally required to consider the impact of their decisions on their workers, customers, suppliers, community, and the environment. This is a community of leaders driving a global movement of people using business as a force for good.
A Special Community
Herb UK was thrilled to gain B Corp™ certification in 2020, recognising the hard work our team does day in, day out.
“It was an intensive process to gain certification. But at the end of the day it’s our people - their strong ethics and determination to make our world a better place - that made it possible.”
Raoul Perfitt, Herb UK Founder.
