Herb UK began with three friends – a hairdresser, a salesman and a herbal formulator – who wanted to make hair products without the harmful chemicals found in conventional hair cosmetics. They wanted to provide men and women with healthier hair alternatives. And they did just that.
Today Herb UK manufactures two premium hair brands – Organic Colour Systems and Tints of Nature – and distributes to more than 45 countries around the world.
But we’re still just a group of friends who strive to do better than we did yesterday. Better for people who use our products, and better for the planet and everything living on it.
A Heritage As Organic As Our Products
Many people make hair product. And these days, many of those products at least purport to be natural. But there’s only one with a heritage in natural products dating back to British herbal medicine’s founding father.
That founding father was Hubert Mitchell. And it’s his grandson, Raoul Perfitt, who founded and is Managing Director of Herb UK.
Good People, Good Stuff
When I began formulating hair colours over 30 years ago, I never thought the mixtures my friends and I were making - on a camping stove in my garage I might add - would become a worldwide success.
For many years Herb UK sat on the fringe of the hair cosmetics industry. We were considered a bit odd for wanting to produce quality products using organic and natural ingredients.
